Four reasons, no filler
The battery is new
New, not refurbished. 36 V, removable, with a lock and its keys. The battery is the most expensive thing on an e-bike. That is what makes people afraid of buying one second-hand.
The price gap
A new Frank city bike starts at ARS 2,750,000 at the factory today. This one is ARS 1,490,000, with the battery just replaced. The gap is about a year and a half of riding and a few marks in the paint.
The factory serviced it
Bought new at the Frank factory in 2023 and serviced there ever since. One owner, no garage fixes by a friend of a friend — every service was done by the people who assembled it.
You test it first
You come over and ride. The battery will already be charged, so there is nothing to wait for: a lap around the block, and you watch the indicator yourself. Money comes up after that, not before.

Frank electric bikes: their own factory in Vicente López
It is an Argentine manufacturer with its own factory, showroom and service workshop in Vicente López. You can walk in, look at the new bikes and ask about this one. New ones come with a two-year warranty on battery and motor.
At the factory today a new Frank City costs $2,750,000. The Classic and the Offroad, $2,800,000. The Elegance and the Elite, $3,000,000. This one is from 2023, it was bought there, and it went back there whenever it needed anything: the people who checked it are the people who built it.

What a year and a half on a Frank was like
I can only tell you what happened to me: I rode it for about a year and a half around the area, and every service was done by the factory. I replaced the original battery with a new one, and that is the one you will be testing. About the other Frank models I have no opinion — I rode this one.

The spec is the factory’s plus what I can see myself; I do not vouch for what Frank publishes on its own site. The speed I did measure, riding: 34 km/h on the flat, a little more if you pedal. Range depends on the mode: motor only, pedals only, or both. In mixed mode — pedals and motor together — one charge gave me around 100 km, which is what I covered over three or four days of steady use. I never flattened it in a single day.

What is not perfect
Nobody writes this section in a classified ad. That is exactly why I am writing it.
- It is a 2023 bike and it was ridden. I am not selling it as new, because it is not.
- There are use marks in the paint. The kind any bike collects when it is used to get around rather than to be looked at.
- Wear parts get checked with you: tyres, brake pads, chain. I am not claiming everything is factory fresh — I am saying you inspect it before you pay.
- The battery is the only new part. Everything else has about a year and a half of riding on it, and up close you will see that.
- I have not ridden it for the last year. It has been stored under a roof because I stopped needing it, and that is why I am selling.
- I did not measure the range with instruments. What I know from riding it: in mixed mode one charge gave me around 100 km, spread across three or four days. I never flattened it in one day.
I write all this so there are no surprises when you come. Not for you, not for me.
How to buy a used electric bike in Argentina without regretting it
This works for my bike and for any other one you are looking at. Read it before you go and see one.
01 Start with the battery
It is the most expensive part and the only one that cannot be fixed cheaply. Ask them to charge it in front of you. Check that the charger is the original one and that the indicator does not jump from empty to full in ten minutes. A healthy battery charges slowly and drains slowly.
02 Ask when it was replaced
If the seller cannot give you a date, assume the worst and subtract the price of a new battery. If they can, you are dealing with a different kind of seller.
03 Listen to the motor
With the bike lifted, apply the throttle gently. It should spin up smoothly, no jerks, no metallic noise. A healthy hub motor makes a low, steady hum and nothing else.
04 Check the boring parts
Brakes, wheel play, spoke tension, chain and gears. These are cheap to fix, but if all of them are neglected they are telling you how the bike was treated.
05 Ask where it was serviced
A bike that kept going back to the same shop has a history. A bike that never saw a shop also has a history — they just would rather not tell it.
06 Ride it on the street, not on the pavement
Ten metres prove nothing. Ask for a lap around the block including a short climb. That is where the push, the brakes and the charge indicator all show their real behaviour.
What people always ask
How do I know if an e-bike battery is worn out?
Three signs show up in a single test ride: it charges very fast and drains just as fast, the indicator drops sharply on the first climb, or the bike loses push while the display still shows half charge. On this bike the battery is new, so the test runs the other way round: charge it, ride, and watch the indicator fall evenly.
How long does an electric bike battery last?
It is measured in charge cycles, not in years and not in kilometres: a lithium battery that is treated well takes several hundred cycles before it loses capacity noticeably. How many years that is depends on how much you ride; charging twice a week, you are looking at several years. Kilometres work the same way — they are the result of the cycles, not a fixed figure. What kills a battery is leaving it flat for months or charging it outdoors in winter. This one starts its life from zero.
How much does a replacement battery cost in Argentina?
It depends on voltage, capacity and the month, because the price moves with the dollar. I will not quote a number that is stale next week — ask any local shop and you will see it is by far the most expensive part of the bike. Which is the whole point here: this one already has a new one.
Do you speak English? Is this a scam?
Yes, I speak English, and we meet in person — at the bike workshop in Vicente López or in Villa Urquiza, in daylight, with the bike in front of you. No deposit, no shipping, and nothing paid before you see it. If anyone in this city ever asks you for a transfer before the handover, walk away.
Is it worth buying a used electric bike?
It is worth it when the battery is healthy and you know where the bike came from — then you pay considerably less for the same thing. It is not worth it when the seller will not let you test ride it, cannot say when the battery was replaced, or rushes you. Three red flags, all three visible in the first conversation.
How far does it go on one charge?
It depends on the mode: motor only, pedals only, or both together. In mixed mode — pedals and motor — one charge gave me around 100 km, which is what I covered over three or four days of steady use; I never flattened the battery in a single day. I am not going to hand you a lab figure: this is what happened to me riding it. And a twenty-minute test ride cannot prove it — it would take a full day.
Is there any warranty?
This is a private sale, so there is no factory warranty. What there is instead is the chance to inspect it calmly, in the workshop that has always serviced it, before you hand over a peso. It is exactly what I would ask for if I were on your side.
How do I pay, and can I test ride it first?
Yes, test ride first. Message me on WhatsApp or Telegram, we agree on a day and time in Vicente López or Villa Urquiza, you ride it around the neighbourhood and then decide. Payment is cash or bank transfer at handover, and I ask for no deposit. I do not ship and I do not send couriers: the bike is handed over in person.
